From Ralph's sister, Susan:   After a hard six month battle with esophageal cancer, Ralph “Skip” Lanternier passed on the afternoon of November 19th, 2009 surrounded by his family.  He led a good life, married later in life, was single for a long time!  He gave up drinking the day his daughter was born, and never looked back. He was an extraordinary dad.  His sense of humor stayed in tact until the end.  His ashes were spread in the ocean off the coast of Newport Beach where he continued to surf right up until his diagnoses.  He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter; his parents; his brother, Craig (class of '72) and sisters, Susan and Tracy.
